ROSELLE, Ill. — A 22-year-old Roselle woman is accused of putting boiling water on her friend while that slept — and posting the act on social media.

According come police, Alexis Sykes recorded herself committing the crime, allegedly composing on Snapchat, “I kinda feel poor now due to the fact that he obtained 2&3rd degree Burns from challenge to belt & castle rushin him to burn center however oh well.”

Her boyfriend, that was asleep inside an apartment they shared in Roselle, suffered 2nd and third-degree burns. He invested two weeks in ~ the Loyola college Medical facility burn unit, whereby he underwent skin graft surgery.

Sykes, situated in Mississippi last month and extradited to DuPage County, is charged through battery. She is being hosted on a $500,000 bond.
